spit & sawdust studios

Spit & Sawdust has a number of purpose built, subsidised studios for contemporary artists whose practice is experimental. These include both individual studios and a shared working space.

Current studio holders are Freya Dooley, Harry Morgan, Sam Hasler, Becca+Clare, Nia Metcalfe, James Cocks, Rory Duckhouse and Amy Edwards, Thom O’Sullivan and Gareth ‘Ziggy’ Thomas. Studio holders have the opportunity to input into our creative programme, through events or exhibitions.

We also offer, from time to time, opportunities for other artists to work within Spit, using the space for making or experimenting. These are called ‘Quiet Residencies’ and are offered to artists who would benefit from a period of time with access to a peer group, to space, or to our facilities.

For more information about studio availability, or to enquire about a Quiet Residency, please email us. If you’d like to get in touch about exhibiting with us, please see our Submission Policy.
